  • Glitziest Mobile Games for those Times You End Up Stuck in an Airport!

Glitziest Mobile Games for those Times You End Up Stuck in an Airport!

If you’re backpacking or travelling for a long period of time, it’s inevitable you’re going to experience one or two flight delays. Believe me, there’s nothing worse than flying from one continent to the next, having to change twice and then find your last flight is delayed. So close, and yet so far!

I’m the original bookworm (still haven’t made that step towards a Kindle yet either!), so I’m more than happy to chill out (or try to!) with a book for a few hours – and the great thing about any airport is there’s always a bookshop!

But Steve, although he does read pretty often, prefers his ipod and games on his phone, so he’s given me a list of his favourite ones that have saved his sanity when we’ve been stuck somewhere  during our trip!

Of shooting, running, and unending action

If slots aren’t your thing, then you can play some action games such as Mountain Sniper Shooting 3D, which is a very heavy action game, and can test your aiming skills to the limit. And if adventure games is the thing for you, then you can play Temple Run 2, which is one of the biggest games that has ever been developed, which teams up a lot of elements together to bring together a stunning game that tests all your skills to the limit.

    temple run

    Race your way past boredom

And if racing games are your thing, then there are a variety of games from Highway Rider, which is a very popular game where you ride a bike trough heavy traffic and try to keep at it for as long as possible, to Hill Climb Racing. This is one game where you get to drive around in a huge variety of vehicles, starting from bikes and jeeps to tanks and roller coasters, and you can try these out on many tracks that are unlocked with each passing stage.

    highway-rider-03-700x437

Smartphone games that could land you in a puddle of gold

Online casinos are never out of the picture when one talks about thrilling games. And out of the many top games that are there, probably the most popular one is Slotomania Video slots app which is an app housing tonnes of casino games which can keep you occupied for hours. Gaming on this slots app is as much fun as a real slot machine, and all the rules are the same.

    All day entertainment, guaranteed

Other than these, there are some fun simple games such as Paper Toss, where you have to toss a ball of paper into a basket, while trying to overcome external influences from a fan and not getting blown off course. And if you want to try out a twitch gameplay mobile game, then Don’t Tap the White Tile is the best game, where classical music and speeding tiles go hand in hand, and you have to avoid touching the white tile at any cost. There are some pretty simple games as well, such as 3D Bowling and Archery games, which are just classics and have been somewhat modified to get attuned to the modern day trends in gaming, while keeping the main essence intact. So there are a lot of games out there, and there is one game for everyone, no matter what your tastes and style are.

  • Benefits Of Being An International Au Pair

Benefits Of Being An International Au Pair

You’ve finished high school and want to travel abroad but it’s not in the budget. You’ve completed two years of university but are still unsure of what to declare as your major. Sound familiar? Looking for some options before you start university or are you wishing to experience some cultural adventures to decide your life goals? Spending a year or two as an au pair will provide you a wealth of experiences, both cultural and professional.

Benefits of being an au pair

Whether you choose to travel abroad immediately after high school or college, one of the main parts of an international au pair program is the language immersion program so you’ll better acclimate yourself and be able to communicate with your host family and the children you care for more efficiently.

    au pair

    • You learn the native language, but you don’t have to go through the hassle of finding the appropriate courses. Many au pair agencies have prior agreements with local educational organizations and will begin the process for you. That way, you only have to pay for your classes once you’ve earned some money.
    • You live with a host family, which provides several advantages, including the opportunity to learn more about the culture and practice your vocabulary. It also allows you cheaper accommodations, as your room and board is included as part of your salary. Most au pair agencies in London require host families to give their au pairs their own bedroom.
    • You’ll gain experience and form relationships within your host family while providing full-time live-in child care. Most agencies don’t require prior child care experience but this opportunity allows you a wonderful opportunity to participate in some of your host family’s traditions and teach the children some of your own.
    • While exploring the country and helping your host family, you’ll be earning some extra money. While it varies, some agencies offer a stipend of around $10,000 annually, while providing you with accommodations, meals, and an educational allowance.
    • Many agencies, including au pair agencies in London require that you further your education at an accredited university. While you may select which subjects you wish to study, it’s often beneficial to take a few education or child care ones. Each country or au pair agency has its own guidelines on how many credits they require you to complete.
    • You’ll make life-long friendships. Whether it’s through your university classes, your language courses, our just one of the other au pairs or locals, you’ll be surprised by how much you want to stay in contact after one short year.
    • Besides money and education, being an au pair offers you the opportunity to explore the world. You’ll join your host family for traditional festivals, but you’ll also get days off each week to explore attractions with your new friends. Each year, most au pair agencies afford you at least two weeks off to travel and explore other areas.

After your first year is up, you have the option of resigning for another six months or a year if you wish to remain an au pair and experience even more new things.

  • Stunning Ibiza Sunsets: Top Places to End the Day

Stunning Ibiza Sunsets: Top Places to End the Day

Ibiza is known for its party reputation. But when you travel here for your holiday, one of the best memories that you will take home with you is the fabulous sunsets. You can see sunsets all over the island, and they really are incredible spectacles. Here are a few of the top destinations for you to enjoy a truly special sunset when you stay in Ibiza.

    The Sunset Strip

    sunset

The name says it all. The Sunset Strip is a stretch of coast in San Antonio where you will find not just stunning beaches but a number of bars and restaurants, all of which make for a great place to spend the last few hours of the day.

Two bars are particularly famous for watching sunsets: Cafe Mambo and Cafe del Mar. You may have already heard of these bars when you start planning your Ibiza 2015 holiday. The sunsets are made into real events here, where hundreds of people will chill out and listen to DJs playing the right tracks to get everyone in the mood.

But although you should do at least one sunset at one of these bars, anywhere along the Sunset Strip will provide you with a special sunset to remember.

    Cala Benirras

    benirras2

Far from the crowds of San Antonio, Cala Benirras is up in the northwest of the island. It is a peaceful bay that used to be popular with hippies decades ago, and you will often find people playing bongo drums as the sun goes down. As well as the great beach, you’ll find a few places to get drinks and snacks, making it the ideal place to spend the afternoon and evening.

    Es Vedra

Es Vedra is one of the most mystical places in Ibiza, so what better place to enjoy a stunning sunset? This island is not far off Cala d’Hort, and it is said to be the remaining tip of the mythical city of Atlantic. The best place to watch the sun go down here is to walk to Torre des Savinar at the top of the cliffs. From this tower, you will find the views over the sea spectacular at any time of the day, but they are especially good at sunset.

    Cala Conta

    conta

This beach is about a 15 minute journey from San Antonio, making it easy to reach. By day it’s a busy little beach with lots of facilities, and by night more people arrive to listen to the DJs play their sunset tracks. There are some good restaurants here, so grab yourself a table and enjoy the show.

    Enjoy Ibiza’s Stunning Sunsets

There are plenty of other places to view sunsets in Ibiza. Indeed, anywhere along the west coast will provide you with an impressive spectacle, so it depends whether you want to watch the sun go down with hundreds of revellers or on your own on a quiet stretch of beach. Whatever you prefer, you’ll find the perfect way to watch the sun go down in Ibiza, and the sunsets here are certain to be one of your lasting memories of your time here.

Madison Harrison’s first introduction to the Mediterranean islands was aboard a cruise more than fifteen years ago. • How to Avoid the Stresses and Strains of Business Travel

How to Avoid the Stresses and Strains of Business Travel

Whenever I see business people cruising coolly and confidently around railways stations or airports, sharply dressed, briefcase in one hand, Blackberry in the other, I always think it must be such a glamorous lifestyle; a few days in an uber-chic hotel in one capital city before catching a high-speed train or plane to another exciting, bustling location, hiring and firing, saving companies and making millions…

OK, so perhaps my outlook on the world of business travel has been largely influenced by US films and may not be entirely realistic.

In reality, business travel involves working around public transport schedules, booking into and checking out of hit-or-miss hotels, tracking expenses and organising receipts, having to remember important items and generally missing your creature comforts.

And I know this because Steve’s recently ventured back into the murky (and boring) world of finance, but instead of working for a company in a fixed location, he’s set himself up as a consultant travelling around the country. Why is this good? Because I get the whole bed and the TV remote to myself a few days a week. Why is this bad? Because I continually get panic phone calls about forgotten contact lenses, complaints about hotels with poor wireless connections and handfuls of tattered receipts I’m supposed to organise when he returns home.

Steve’s an inexperienced business traveller which is why the transition into this world of work has been a little tough, but I have found one useful source of information that has made a bit of a difference. It seems in our modern world every aspect of your life can be made easier, and when it comes to business travel, IHG Business Advantage has helped us a little.

I came across their article, 8 Ways To Reduce Your Business Travel Stress, whilst looking for tips and cheats on hotel deals and travel expenses and have implemented some of their advice to great success.

    Buy A Business Wallet

    travel-wallet

The first purchase I made was a business wallet; a stylish leather one that Steve immediately took to being as it fit his “suave image” apparently. In his wallet he keeps all his debit and credit cards, plus all loyalty and discount cards he owns – in the words of Tesco, “every little helps”. He keeps his USBs in there (massively important for presentations), as well as spare contact lenses! I don’t think I’ll need contact lenses just yet but did you know being a businessman can sometimes be the reason for your sight problems? It depends on how much screen time you have because it does strain your eyes to look at them. That’s why there are things like blue light glasses and glasses to stop the flicker of screens, visit this link https://felixgray.com/collections/blue-light-glasses for examples. Anyway, at least I know there are ways to protect my eyes, then I won’t need to keep a spare pair of contact lenses!

    The Importance of Wi-Fi

Loads of hotels boast free Wi-Fi, but many have poor connection which is incredibly frustrating! Now Steve always reads the hotel reviews before booking, as often people will complain about the Wi-Fi if the connection is poor, but the hotels working in partnership with IHG are all classy, reputable names so this tends not to be a problem.

    Create a Travel Checklist

    notebook

I’m definitely one for lists – as a teacher, I make them all the time. Introducing Steve to lists has revolutionised the way he plans and organises himself for different trips and has made business travel much less stressful for him.

I’d definitely recommend taking a look at the article in its entirety, and seeing what the IHG site can offer you to make your business travel as easy and comfortable as possible. Life on the road is hard enough as it is, might as well do everything you can to minimise the stress!

  • River VS Ocean Cruises: What’s Included?

River VS Ocean Cruises: What’s Included?

In recent years, river and ocean cruises have become two of the most popular types of holiday. With thousands of travellers opting for the water over traditional beach getaways, the cruise market looks to be growing exponentially – but if you had to choose one or the other, which would you opt for? Although each come with a wealth of benefits, the price for river and ocean cruises can vary significantly depending on location. So, what do you get for your money?

Reasons to Book a River Cruise

One of the best things about a river cruise is the size of the ship, and therefore the intimacy of your holiday. Because the ships are smaller, they’re able to navigate deeper into the land’s waterways, meaning you’ll be able to get up close and personal with your destination. Furthermore, with a limited number of guests on board it’s a lot easier to make friends, and you’ll most likely get a more personalised service.

Another benefit of river cruises is the all-inclusive nature of the package. The price of your ticket really does include everything, from your food and accommodation to excursions and transfers. The initial booking price might be a little higher compared to ocean cruises, but when you break it down, river cruises offer you so much more for your money!

    rivercruise2

Additionally, when it comes to ocean cruises, your view can sometimes get a little repetitive. Ocean, dock. Ocean, dock. That’s why river cruises are so great; they take you into the heart of your destination, and in many cases you’ll be sailing to a new city every day, waking up in a different part of the world each time.

Reasons to Book an Ocean Cruise

Although river cruising is a popular market it’s still a growing one, meaning there’s not as much destination choice compared to ocean cruises. Ocean cruises sail the entire world, and frequently too, meaning you won’t have to wait a whole year to experience your most-loved destination. Some river cruise companies can be fully booked up to a year in advance. But as ocean cruise liners have space for more people, booking a ticket for your dream ocean holiday won’t be as difficult!

    oceancruise

Furthermore, because of the increase choice of ocean cruises compared to river, there are always deals popping up online. By signing up to the market leaders’ email updates, you could grab yourself a great deal for 6-12 months’ time, saving yourself a small fortune.

Additionally, there’s much more to experience on an ocean cruise liner, from huge theatres and rock climbing walls to vast swimming pools, spas and even shopping halls. None of these activities will be affected by adverse weather conditions, unlike river cruises where high waters can force captains to take alternative routes, even causing outside decks of the ship to be closed off.
