Based on the costs of a taxi journey, a night in a hotel, a meal, a pint of beer, a cup of coffee and a bottle of wine these are the 5 most expensive holiday destinations in the world.

5. Singapore
Singapore will cost you approximately £184 a day. You can grab a taxi for £3.5 that will take you to Orchid Road, the most famous shopping street of Singapore. Sleeping in a hotel somewhere in Singapore has a price card of £128. Now your accommodation and transportation is covered the only thing left are food and drinks. You can have dinner for £29, with a pint of beer for £5.5, a cup of coffee for £3 and a bottle of wine for £17.

4. London
London will cost you approximately £191.5 a day. You can grab a taxi for £8.5. That’s more than double the price you pay in Singapore. Spending a night in London is about the same price as in Singapore. In London you will pay £127. Food in London is more expensive than Singapore, but alcoholic drinks are almost have the price. Yay! You can have a meal for £50, with a pint of beer for £3.5, a cup of coffee for £3 and a bottle of wine for £9.

3. Sydney
When you go to this Australian beauty count on a budget of £203. You’ll pay £8 for a taxi journey of 3 kilometers. A hotel in Sydney is more expensive than the previous two and by far your biggest expense. It has a price card of £170. A meal is cheaper than London, but more expensive than Singapore and will cost you £40. Coffee is relatively cheap, only £2. Beer and wine are about the same as London. They’ll charge you £3.5 for a beer and £9 for a bottle of wine.

2. New York City
The city that never sleeps needs £257 from your wallet every day for you to have a nice time here. Grab a yellow taxi that takes you to Times Square for £6.3. A hotel in this beautiful, crowded city will cost £199! A meal is also more expensive than the previous cities and has a price card of £55. Same story for having a beer in New York: a £4 bill. Coffee is cheaper though! Only £2.6. That’s cheaper than all the other cities. You have to pay £11.3 for a bottle wine.

1. Dubai, United Arab Emirates
And the most expensive of the expensive ones is… Dubai of course! They don’t call it the ‘city of Gold’ for nothing. They’ll need £279 from you every day. But comparing to the other cities not everything is most expensive in Dubai. A meal is relatively cheap (£28). A taxi journey is even the cheapest in Dubai, only £1.8! Though, checking out at a hotel in Dubai will leave you with the highest bill of all with an amount of £215. Alcoholic drinks are also, like Singapore, expensive in Dubai. You will pay £0.5 more for alcoholic drinks here than in Singapore: beer will cost £6 and a bottle of wine £17.5.
