Eagle Beach

For those interested in experiencing the type of picture-perfect beaches that most of us only get to see in magazines and on TV, Eagle Beach is an absolutely mandatory visit. With its pure white sands, glistening turquoise waters, and flowing palms, it’s the perfect place to kick back, grab a drink, and live the dream.

Natural Pool aka Conchi

A gorgeous, guided drive through Aruba’s picturesque Akikrok National Park is all that stands between you and the beautiful Natural Pool on the north end of the island, also known as Conchi. The mighty waters of the Atlantic beat against the rocky Aruban shore, making much of it unswimmable, except for one spot separated from the turbulent waters by natural rock formations.

In this pool, visitors can enjoy breathtakingly clear waters while witnessing the scenic grandeur of the island’s flora and fauna.

As Aruba’s only real mountain, Mt. Hooiberg has long been a special destination. Although it may seem small, you shouldn’t let its height keep you away. Since the island is otherwise flat, Mt. Hooiberg’s summit provides surprisingly spectacular views.

Plus, the trail is well worn and outfitted with non-hiker-friendly stairs.

Boca Catalina

Attention snorkelers: Boca Catalina is home to some of the best snorkeling in all of Aruba. If you have any interest in exploring the beautiful underwater world surrounding the island, this spot is one of the best. Exotic fish, coral, and other wildlife abound.

Be aware, Boca Catalina isn’t occupied by vendors, so it’s best to bring everything you’ll need for your trip along with you.

Guadirikiri Caves

Not far from Oranjestad on the southernmost portion of island, you’ll find the Guadirikiri Caves (You might have to slow down and sound this one out!). The Guadirikiri Caves are distinguished by the two large domes that can be seen from their interior. Sunlight penetrates the underground caverns and illuminates the caves through holes in these domes.

Aside from the fascinating stalagmites and stalactites you’ll see during your cave adventure, a variety of small nocturnal bats can be found here as well. Although they may frighten some, they’re totally harmless.

This collection of giant boulders, which have been rounded and formed in amazing ways by centuries of wear, is another one of Aruba’s natural wonders. Trails with stairs are cut between the enormous rocks, and any able-bodied trekker should be able to traverse the whole formation.

From the top of the formation, you’ll experience fantastic views and breathtaking scenery. What’s more, there are bits of ancient Arawak painting scattered throughout the formation. Keep an eye open and you’ll get the chance to see a piece of the island’s rich history!

California Lighthouse

Just a stone’s throw from Arashi Beach on Aruba’s northwestern tip you can see the California Lighthouse, the island’s only lighthouse. The lighthouse’s history can be traced all the way back to 1891 when a steamship named the California crashed into a nearby stretch of coastline. The lighthouse was named after the vessel and has stood tall to this day.

For history buffs and sightseers alike, the California Lighthouse is a great spot to visit.
